POCONO MOUNTAINS, Pa. – In 2007 the Pocono Mountains region was ranked in three top ten travel destination listings online. The region was named number two on the top searched resort destinations on AOL Search and was among exotic locales in a poll for destinations that travelers would sneak away for a last minute rendezvous with their special someone on LastMinuteTravel.com. The Pocono Mountains was included in the top ten romantic getaway locales in the world on TripAdvisor.com, which also ranked Mount Pocono among the top ten hot U.S. destinations for 2008.
Mount Pocono ranked sixth among U.S. destinations forecasted to be among the rising stars in travel and ninth among romantic getaway locales worldwide based on TripAdvisor’s TravelCast. TravelCast is a barometer of what’s hot in travel destinations based on a proprietary algorithm that looks at several criteria, including changes in search activity and postings on tripadvisor.com.
