Popular Courtyard Steps from Buckingham Palace Opens for Season Just Prior to Royal Wedding;
Introduces ‘51’ Cocktail Plus Summer Musical Calendar of Outdoor Opera & West End Hits
LONDON (April 12, 2011)- As spring blooms, London’s preferred outdoor dining oasis, The Courtyard at 51 Buckingham Gate, is reopening just in time for the royal wedding. This delightful spot adjoining 51 Buckingham Gate, the private enclave of 86 luxurious residential-style suites from Taj Hotels, is truly the best address for your regal toast to the happy couple. In addition, to celebrate the property’s 10th anniversary this season, The Courtyard is featuring special festive menus and musical events throughout the summer that are certain to add memorable al fresco moments to your next London getaway.
Tucked away in a private landscaped space with evocative fountain just steps from Buckingham Palace, The Courtyard at 51 offers dishes inspired by the best in cuisine and wine from the Middle East and North Africa. The à la carte menu, with dishes such as Lokoz Meshwi (fillet of sea bass with almond chermoula) and Djaj Shaw (chicken marinated in onions, garlic and saffron), will be freshly prepared on 51’s state of the art BBQ and available daily for lunch and dinner until September.
51’s elevated terrace serves a selection of refreshing cocktails. In honor of its 10th anniversary, The Courtyard has teamed up with Tanquaray No. 10 Gin to create an exclusive anniversary tipple, The 51 Cocktail.
The Courtyard will roll out a musical menu for all tastes throughout the summer. Viva Live Music will bring Opera to the Courtyard over two weekends in July. Guests will enjoy opera classics such as La Traviata’s Brindisi, Don Giovanni’s La ci darem and Lakme’s Flower duet. The Courtyard will also open its gates to the best of the West End, with classic musical hits from productions such as Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables, provided by Cantible’s London Quartet; and contemporary favorites including Mamma Mia, Wicked and Grease delivered by Soprano Bella Entertainment. Featuring genuine West End stars, the acts will take place in two 30-minute halves on select Friday and Saturday evenings throughout July and August.
The Courtyard’s full musical events schedule is as follows:
