TOFINO, BC (January 3, 2008) - Iconic destinations need iconic resorts within which to enjoy them, and Long Beach Lodge's Great Room is a Tofino, B.C. destination all its own. In fact, it is so popular that the resort has not only expanded it, it has also just made it exclusive to resort guests only and is offering a great "room" rate, so that people can experience it during one of the best times of the year - storm watching season!
From January 7 - February 29, 2008, Long Beach Lodge is extending a "Great Room" rate starting from $259 CAD per night, based on double occupancy. The rate includes a beachfront room, continental breakfast buffet, and a $75 food and beverage credit. The "Great Room" rate must be booked by January 21, 2008 and is based on availability. For reservations or more information, visit www.longbeachlodgeresort.com or call 1-877-844-7873.
Arguably one of the best rooms on the west coast, and one of the reasons Long Beach Lodge was featured in Architectural Digest when it opened, the Great Room with its floor to ceiling windows, sky-high beamed ceiling, stone fireplace and local art, has been expanded into the dining room to give it a more seamless feel. This allows for more dining options, and encourages guests to use the even "greater" Great Room as an extension of their hotel room throughout their stay.
Since the resort first opened in 2002, the Great Room has built a reputation for putting guests "on the beach" yet cocoons them in a richly designed and decorated room perfect for socializing, playing a game of chess, reading a great book or contemplating the beach activities and winter storms. Recently redecorated in rich blues and deep chocolates, along with red and caramel colours, the overstuffed chairs and couches are wrapped in durable fabrics that encourage guests to curl up and stay awhile.
Kimberly Williams Interiors of Victoria, B.C., created Long Beach Lodge Resort's award-winning interior design. (www.kwilliamsinteriors.com) Vancouver designer Brent Comber (www.brentcomber.com) built the 'Shattered' Douglas Fir tables by splitting, assembling, and juxtaposing different sizes, shapes and grain patterns of wood. Vancouver Island's Live Edge Design (www.liveedgedesign.com/lifestyle/ourvision.html) used maple wood that was salvaged from storm damaged trees or rescued from the forest floor to create the coffee and side tables.
Long Beach Lodge Resort first opened its doors in May 2002, and has become one of the top resorts on Vancouver Island. Set literally on the ocean at Cox Bay Tofino, it offers high-end luxurious accommodation in a relaxed setting, with 40 lodge rooms, a full service dining room, 20 two-bedroom cottages as well as meeting space. Spa services may be arranged on or off property, by request, and pet friendly rooms are also available.
