Carytown Watermelon Festival
If your readers are making last-minute weekend plans, send them to Carytown, Richmond's nine-block "Mile of Style," for the Carytown Watermelon Festival on Sunday, August 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a taste of the sweeter things in life. Richmond Jazz Festival
The Richmond Jazz Festival is back for a second year and will feature over 20 local, national and international bands and artists at multiple venues including the newly-restored Hippodrome Theater and beautiful Maymont Park August 11-14. From Fabergé Revealed to Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
Jewel-lovers will exult over Fabergé Revealed, running through Oct. 2 and presenting over 500 works by famed jeweler to the czars Karl Fabergé. VMFA's collection is the largest public collection of Fabergé in the U.S. and includes five Russian Imperial Easter eggs: vmfa.museum/Exhibitions/Faberge-Revealed/. Next up at the VMFA is Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb, running from Nov. 19 – March 11, 2012.
