The 7-day land-only package, which begins at the Athens airport every Saturday, includes two nights at the modern, air-conditioned, centrally-located Polis Grand Hotel in Athens (its Roof Garden bar has a view of the Acropolis);  daily breakfasts; a half-day Athens sightseeing tour with entrance fees; airport/hotel/port/airport transfers; and a four-day cruise with all meals in a superior inside cabin on Louis Cruises.  Of course, an upgrade to the 5-star Divani Palace Acropolis Hotel is possible, for a slightly higher price.

The cruise departs from Piraeus, the port of Athens, and covers the highlights of the Aegean Sea.  The first stop is Kusadasi, Turkey, where passengers can visit the impressive archaeological site at ancient Ephesus; then the hilly Greek island of Patmos, with its picturesque villages and Monastery of St. John; and verdant Rhodes, which boasts an amazingly-preserved medieval city and the beautiful village of Lindos and its Acropolis.  The ship docks in Crete’s colorful port of Heraklion so passengers can shop, loll in a café and visit the ancient Minoan Palace of Knossos; and finally there’s Santorini, where passengers climb by  donkey or cable car to the white, cliff-hanging town of Fira, famed for its fantastic views.  Note that there is an additional charge for excursions.
