NEW YORK – (September 23, 2011) – The Pierre, A Taj Hotel on New York’s Central Park, has introduced a menu of in-room spa treatments from Jiva, Taj Hotels’ signature spa brand.
Jiva means “the destination within” or “inner force.” Inspired by India’s ancient traditions of wellness and the rituals of Indian royalty, the therapies embrace a deep understanding of the interdependency of mind, body and spirit.
Experiences are designed to create a holistic path to harmony and balance, with a range of treatments from head to toe that incorporate exclusive, all-natural signature Jiva products. Bihar Yoga sessions that integrate physical, psychological and spiritual dimensions in equal fashion are also available.
All therapists have been thoroughly trained in Jiva’s intricate Indian techniques. Guests may schedule treatments in the comfort of their guestrooms and suites, or opt to reserve the hotel’s private Jiva treatment room on the third floor adjacent to the fitness center.
Each therapy features a suggested duration for optimum results, but guests may request that any treatment take just 30 minutes. Jiva treatments are offered daily from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Treatments may also be arranged after 9:00 p.m.; a surcharge applies.
At this time, Jiva services are offered to hotel guests only, with advance reservations and 24-hour cancellation notice requested. In 2012, Jiva will begin to expand into a new space on The Pierre’s fourth floor.
The Jiva treatment menu at The Pierre includes:
