Ice Skating Rink and Restaurant to Commemorate 75^th Anniversary of Rock Center Christmas Tree

 

NEW YORK, NY: January 21, 2008 – Celebrating the 75^th anniversary of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, The Rink at Rock Center will kick-off the New Year by partnering with the Rock Center Café to offer an exclusive Skate-A-Date package. A landmark recognized throughout the world and providing New Yorkers and travelers alike with joyous memories throughout the years, this powerhouse occasion is sure to attract even more visitors this season.

The Rink first opened on Christmas Day in 1936 as the premier artificial outdoor skating pond built in New York City, complete with modern amenities: night skating, a heated house for changing skates, piped-in music and rink-side dining.  Over the past 71 years, The Rink has become one of the most visited sights in NYC—and even the world!  Over 150,000 skaters graced the ice last year, with this year already setting new records.

 

Perfect for families or lovebirds, the Skate-A-Date package will present rink-goers with a delicious two-course dinner for two from the popular Rock Center Café, as well as VIP skating on The Rink—which allows guests to skip the lengthy lines. 

 

In honor of the 75^th anniversary, the Skate-A-Date package can be reserved for the special price of $75 (plus tax and tip) from January 21^st through early April.
