Each Jan 1, Teton Ridge Ranch opens its winter playground of miles of groomed cross country ski trails for snow enthusiasts looking for an exclusive, personalized getaway.
“Cross country skiing is experiencing a surge in popularity because it is a low-impact sport with a low injury rate and amazing health benefits,” says Jan Betts, ranch co-manager. “At Teton Ridge, the ski experience is a bit like one from a story book-- guests are out in the quiet of nature with miles of undiscovered beauty surrounding them and no one else around.”
Set on 4,000 acres of private land in
A highlight of the cross country ski season at Teton Ridge Ranch is the annual Teton Ridge Classic Cross Country Ski Race that takes place each January. Ranch guests cheer on participants as they ski right past the main lodge. Occasionally, guests at the ranch even participate in the popular race.
For those who would prefer to stay off skis, Teton Ridge ranch offers
many other snow-based activities including horse-drawn sleigh rides and snow
shoeing. The ranch can also direct guests to snowmobiling excursions and
downhill skiing at nearby Grand Targhee.
Home base for a getaway to Teton Ridge Ranch is the rustically elegant lodge that features five luxuriously appointed guest suites, each with private bath. For a more private experience, the ranch also offers the Aspen Lodge, just a short walk from the main lodge. The Aspen Lodge features two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a wonderful living area and private porches to take in the mountain views. All guests have access to the ranch’s many amenities including the huge Great Room with large screen plasma TV and fireplace, library, games room, fitness center, massage room and computer stations.
The
ranch experience includes three gourmet meals per day, plus snacks and a
bottomless cookie jar as well as a refrigerator stocked with juices, water,
soda, beer and wine. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet-style from an open
kitchen. In the evening, guests meet in the Great Room for appetizers and drinks
by the fire before a sumptuous dinner in the dining room. Special dietary
requests and kids’ food preferences are easily accommodated.
The single occupancy rate at the ranch starts at $395 per night; double occupancy begins at $545. A three-night minimum is required. Rates are inclusive of all meals and on-property activities. Reservations can be made by calling 208-456-2650, 800-926-3579 or by visiting www.tetonridge.com.
