Some Forever Resorts' properties close during the winter months but most properties are open year–round and offer the season's magic and serenity to those who can getaway "off season." Naturally the Holidays overlay a wonderful patina of things to see and do which, of course, include visits to the great outdoors. Look at what's happening at and near Forever Resorts around the holidays:

MAMMOTH CAVE HOTEL, MAMMOTH CAVE NATIONAL PARK, KY, is open weekends throughout the winter for over night guests, as is the on–site Travertine Restaurant that will host its bountiful annual Thanksgiving Buffet from 11:30–2:30 pm.

• December 2–18, Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. Catch a one–of–a–kind rendition of A Christmas Carol at the nearby Kentucky Repertory Theatre in Horse Cave, KY.

• Saturday, December 3, experience "The Simple Gifts of Christmas," a fascinating seasonal festivity at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. Opens at 10AM, 10% offmost hand–crafted gifts, special music and caroling at 7PM.

• December 4, 2PM. The annual CAVE SING in the historic entrance of Mammoth Cave.

MORMAN LAKE LODGE, NORTHERN ARIZONA, is an adventurous destination in and of itself. The historic property features an array of cabins, an RV park and camp sites, plus a legendary steakhouse and saloon. It's a perfect place to host a holiday party! • December 3, 3:30PM, Northern Arizona University, Tuba Christmas Flagstaff

• December 26–31, 9 AM–9:30 PM. The world famous Lowell Observatory extends its open hours and adds special programs/tours. Numerous telescopes will be set up after dark.

• During December, Riordan Mansion State Park offers guided holiday tours showcasing a towering tree full of old–fashioned ornaments. Reservations suggested.
