LE MASSIF DE CHARLEVOIX LAUNCHES 2011-12 SLIDE SEASON

With accumulations of 7cm over the past 24hrs

 
 Charlevoix, December 7 2011 – The ski and snowboard season at Le Massif de Charlevoix gets its official send-off this Saturday, December 10. Slide enthusiasts will revel in the 75 cm of snow thoroughly blanketing the 7 trails in theDonald Bouchard Beginner Area and Camp-Boule Sector, where the altitude soars to its highest.

 

Camp-Boule Express Lift and the platter lift will be in operation from 8:30am to 3:15pm. The director of Mountain Operations has confirmed that in coming weeks, other trails and lifts will gradually open. "Our teams have been working tirelessly to open as many trails as possible, maximizing on each and every quality snowmaking opportunity in terms of temperature and on-mountain location," confirms Daniel Blais. "Between now and late January, close to 350 snowguns will have transformed thousands of gallons of water into snowflakes – the equivalent of 135 football fields, each a metre deep – to perfect the snow coverage across the skiable terrain’s three sectors."

 

The cost of a day lift ticket, until December 25, is $54/adults (18+), $44/seniors (65+), $41/students (13-17) and $49/juniors (7-12). Children 6 years and under ski free. Still available are the À Tout Prix Cards that entitle adults to sail the trails Sunday to Friday for $40 per visit, and Saturdays for $50. The Pre-Season Sale ends December 10.
