1.   Crabs and Claws and Crustaceans, Oh My!

Celebrating fresh Oregon seafood, the 26th annual Astoria-Warrenton Crab and Seafood Festival is crawling back to town. This delicious three-day festival is highlighted by a traditional crab dinner featuring fresh-caught Dungeness crab, along with a beer garden and vintages from more than 50 regional wineries. The festival also features arts and crafts from more than 200 regional artisans, along with live music and entertainment.

            When: Friday - Sunday, April 25-27, 2008

            Where: Clatsop County Fairgrounds

            Cost: Adult admission for the festival is $10 on Friday and Saturday, and $5 on     Sunday. Children under the age of 12 are free.

2.  Salt, Sea and Song: 11th Annual Fisher Poets Gathering
Featuring tales of wind-blown travels and salty sea adventures, the 11th annual Fisher Poets Gathering in Astoria brings writers, artists, and fishermen and women together to tell their stories. Audiences enjoy a mix of crafted free verse, rhyming couplets, humorous readings, boisterous songs and touching personal accounts as real residents continue the long-standing fisher tradition of story-telling.  

            When: Friday - Sunday, Feb. 22-24, 2008

Where: Restaurants, pubs, galleries and performance venues throughout downtown Astoria.

Cost: Weekend admission buttons are available for $10; day passes are $5.
