8-night Golden Triangle Tour Includes Flights, Hotels, Sightseeing, Meals
Blaine, WA., January 19, 2012—The bad news about winter travel to China is cold weather. However, the good news is low prices and no crowds. Repeat: low prices and no crowds. So China Spree, America’s favorite tour operator, is offering an eight-night Winter Special to Beijing, Xian and Shanghai that starts at only $1,399 from San Francisco. That price covers round-trip transpacific air; fuel surcharge; all intra-China flights, transportation and transfers; 4-star hotel accommodations; private sightseeing tours with guides and entrance fees; evening shows; and 17 meals, including 8 elaborate American buffet breakfasts. (They’re not kidding when they say “first class travel at bargain prices.”)
The Golden Triangle includes the capital Beijing with its Forbidden City and Summer Palace, ancient Xian with its 7,000 Terracotta Warriors, and lively sophisticated Shanghai with its futuristic skyscrapers. The trip covers not only these highlights, but also Suzhou, the city of traditional gardens and ancient canals, the charming water town of Tongli, and five UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Among the special treats are a Peking Duck dinner, a Tang Dynasty stage show, a dim sum banquet, a pedicab ride through Old Beijing’s hutongs, lunch in a family’s traditional courtyard home, a performance of the Shanghai Acrobats, a ride on the world’s fastest magnetic levitation train, a gondola ride in Tongli, and an excursion to the country’s most important landmark, the Great Wall of China.
Weekly departures start at $1,729 from New York and $1,699 from Washington, D.C. and Chicago. There is one departure from Los Angeles at $1,449 and add-on air fares are available from many other cities. Prices are higher during the second half of March and government fees and taxes are an additional $87. All prices quoted are cash-only, are per person double occupancy and are subject to availability.
