The Inn at Pocono Manor to host “Probably the Toughest Event on the Planet”
At first glance, Tough Mudder is about endurance and pushing oneself. Dig deeper and one discovers it’s really about teambuilding, encountering and overcoming challenging obstacles and giving back through Tough Mudder’s important involvement with the Wounded Warrior Project.
Designed by British Special Forces, Tough Mudder features more than 25 military-style obstacles, such as “Funky Monkey” - greased-up monkey bars, “Fire Walker” - a run through 4-foot-high flames, and “Electroshock Therapy” - a gauntlet of 10,000-volt-charged dangling wires. Mudders come from all walks of life and range from injured veterans to Wall Street executives to pageant queens to 81-year-old grandfathers. The event is not about finish times or winning a medal—simply completing a Tough Mudder is a badge of honor.
Tough Mudder is the largest supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project and its mission to assist severely injured veterans. To date, Tough Mudder and its participants have raised more than $2.5 million for Wounded Warriors. For more information and to participate, visitwww.toughmudder.com.
