 American Volkssport Association sanctions nine 1812 Great Lakes Seaway Trail VolksWalks 

Great Lakes Seaway Trail, NY and PA – Walking enthusiasts of all ages can now enjoy learning about America’s War of 1812 history on Great Lakes Seaway Trail VolksWalks in Ogdensburg, Sackets Harbor, Oswego, Pultneyville, Youngstown, Lewiston, Williamsville, Buffalo, NY, and Erie, PA, daily, from dawn to dusk. 

The American Volkssport Association (AVA) and the International Volkssport Federation both approve the walks for credits. The walks qualify for AVA points under several categories including Walking America’s Trails, Forts of the United States, Historic Churches, Firehouses, Museums, Murals, Bakeries Family Owned, Classic Movie Theaters, and Main Street.
 
Walkers completing the 3.1-mile and 6.2-mile Great Lakes Seaway Trail VolksWalks can earn pins featuring a sailing ship, cannon, soldier, Fort Ontario and Fort La Presentation, crossed rifles, a young America’s flag, the burning of Buffalo, and the famous words flown on the USS Niagara’s battle flag.
